Update on Assessment Events

We are delighted to issue our first blog. April started with our second Assessment event of the year and our first venture North to Solihull. It was very clear from the attendees that the changes to the assessment process were of great concern to Primary Schools. We had over 40 delegates attending and 95% of these felt that the event met their expectations. The key speakers outlined a variety of approaches to assessment. These ranged from Rachel Gallyot with a presentation about 'Outcome Led Learning', Mary Myatt, a very experienced educationalist and inspector, sharing her views on evidence and Michael Tidd with an practical and relevant discussion about cohesive curriculum. Steve Lomax delivered his inspirational approach to Maths including mastery and Shanghai learning. Jamie Pembroke topped and tailed our sessions with his unique style of fast talking and very relevant tips for the future.

The good news is that we are re-running the event at the Kings Centre in Oxford on 16th June 2016. Please spread the word about this as the content continues to be completely relevant and topical. Our headteacher for this event is Lisa Harford from St James' C of E Primary School in Gloucestershire, who will be presenting on a whole school approach to assessment.

Other forthcoming events will include a series of Cyber Risk events, a continuation of our series of specialist SEN events, Governor induction and refresher training, Charity Trustee Training and also a newly designed course for Governors on data and assessment.
